We want every doll, darling and gentleman caller to be able to shop, read and book with us, however you browse.
Our commitment
Stiletto Pin-Up Cosmetics is committed to making stilettopinupcosmetics.com usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard only, screen magnification, speech recognition or reduced-motion settings. We build the site that way and keep checking it as we go.
Conformance status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508. This site is partially conformant: most of it meets Level AA, and we’re working on the parts listed below.
What we’ve done
- Text and interface colors are tested to meet AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- Every page starts with a “Skip to main content” link and uses proper landmarks and heading order.
- All functionality works by keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator on light and dark sections alike.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields have visible labels, autocomplete support, and errors and confirmations are announced.
- The scrolling banner and background video can be paused, and both respect your system’s reduced-motion setting.
- Tap targets on phones and tablets are at least 44 × 44 pixels, and text can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content.
Known limitations
Here are the parts we don’t fully control:
- Our online store. Checkout runs on a third-party Shopify storefront at stilettopinup.com, which we do not author. If you hit a barrier while ordering, email or call us and we will place the order with you directly.
- The embedded map on our Contact page is provided by Google. Our studio address is also written out as plain text beside it so the information never depends on the map.
- Older gallery and event photography may have shorter alternative text than we’d like. We are rewriting these descriptions as we re-shoot and re-caption our archive.
